Proper Oral Hygiene has always been a goal for our patients. Research has shown that oral hygiene in conjunction with two times a year dental visits means less risk of dental decay, healthier gums and tissues and less risk of losing teeth. Recent studies suggest that maintaining a healthy mouth has benefits for whole body health. There seems to be a connection between gum disease and coronary heart disease! By minimizing inflammation around the gums, you may be able to minimize your risk of heart disease. Early studies are very promising, but more research is needed in this area and is being done by dental schools.
In todays market place there are all sorts of aids to help you maintain your oral health. Tooth brushes come in all different shapes and sizes. Some are motor driven to be even more efficient.
